Mission Statement and Values

Mission Statement

Guided by truth, respect and compassion; we share in building upon every individual’s foundation, nurturing a love of learning in preparation for tomorrow’s society, with Jesus at the heart of all we do.

Our Core Values

Our school values of Faith, Hope, and Love underpin our vision, mission statement and all that we do at Sacred Heart. Based upon 1 Corinthians 13:13, “And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.”,  we believe everyone is part of God’s creation, deserving of respect and the chance to grow. These values guide our daily interactions, relationships, and decisions, fostering a community of respect and care.

Faith

  • We understand what it means to be a follower of Christ
  • We can confidently articulate our faith and beliefs
  • We respectfully participate and lead in acts of worship
  • We trust ourselves and each other
  • We listen to, value and celebrate others' views and beliefs

Hope

  • Through prayer and support of one another, we will achieve our very best
  • We aim high and work hard
  • We challenge ourselves and each other
  • We are resilient and learn from our mistakes
  • We share and celebrate achievements

Love

  • We love our neighbour as we love ourselves
  • We forgive and ask for forgiveness
  • We take pride in ourselves and our environment
  • We respect our school and local community
  • We show our love for Jesus by serving others

Promoting Fundamental British Values

In accordance with The Department for Education we aim to actively promote British values in schools to ensure young people leave school prepared for life in modern Britain. Pupils are encouraged to regard people of all faiths, races and cultures with respect and tolerance and understand that while different people may hold different views about what is ‘right’ and ‘wrong’, all people living in England are subject to its law.

The Key Values are:

  • Democracy
  • Rule of Law
  • Individual Liberty
  • Mutual Respect and Tolerance of Those of Different Faiths and Beliefs
