Education Wellbeing Partners (EWPs)
Merton Education Wellbeing Service
What do they offer?
Did you know that we have NHS Wellbeing Practitioners in our school? They offer 1:1 programs with parents to provide tools to help their child’s anxiety or challenging behaviour. The service is part of CAMHS Mental Health and Wellbeing Support aiming to provide preventative and earlier stage support.
Research shows that for primary-aged children working with parents is usually much more helpful for these difficulties than working with children directly – to find out more watch their service video here:
Education Wellbeing Partners are clinical psychologists who deliver a programme to support parents with children who are:
- Showing signs of anxiety or worry (separation, fears, Covid, returning to school etc.)
- Showing behavioural difficulties (bedtime routines, following instructions etc.)
EWPs will work with the parent directly and aim to give the parents strategies and tools to help them support their child, and feel more confident in responding to their child’s behaviour. The program consists of up to 8 weekly sessions with the parent.
